Vegetative form. Leaf blades flat.
Hermaphrodite (`perfect') spikelets. Hermaphrodite spikelets 4-6 mm long. Lemma muticous and aristate or awned and aristate (the lateral nerves prolonged into very short setae). Lemma veins glabrous; intercostal regions glabrous. Median awn to 4 mm long, subapical, fine, weak, straight.
Distribution. Tasmania.
