Vegetative form. Culms to 15 cm high. Leaf blades flat.

Inflorescence. Inflorescence a panicle (few flowered).

Hermaphrodite (`perfect') spikelets. Hermaphrodite spikelets c. 4 mm long. Lemma awned and aristate (the lateral nerves prolonged into short setae). Lemma veins glabrous; intercostal regions glabrous. Median awn fine, weak, to 4 mm long, subapical.

Distribution. Tasmania.

Ecology. Occurs inland at altitudes of 800-1050 m.
